
Industry Focused Initiatives
In Georgia, more than 400,000 people are employed by manufacturers across the state and more than 100,000 people are directly engaged in the manufacturing industry supply chain. When looking at industry sectors in Georgia, food and beverage manufacturing and transportation equipment manufacturing make up the two largest subsets of manufacturing, accounting for almost 30 percent of all jobs in manufacturing in the state, as well as the largest opportunity for job growth, according to the National Association of Manufacturers (NAM).
In addition, GaMEP is part of the Center for MedTech Excellence (CMTE), which supports the growth of the medical device industry. This grant-funded collaboration, serves medical device companies, including start-ups and established firms, helping to bring innovative healthcare products to market, grow the MedTech ecosystem of Georgia, and enhance the economic well-being of the state.
GaMEP works with all sectors within manufacturing, but has employed key industry experts in these three areas to bring industry-focused initiatives that will build up and support the supply chain and create more jobs for Georgia. See how Georgia is serving:
