Energy Assessments

Energy assessments are a valuable tool for businesses to improve bottom line performance and decrease energy intensity. Assessments can be performed on the entire plant, or on specific energy systems, such as compressed air, steam, lighting, pumps and fans, and hydraulic systems. The Energy and Sustainability Services team has performed hundreds of energy audits in a broad range of industries, and have the practical skill to deal with complex energy systems.

Industrial Assessment Center (IAC)

The IAC is part of a federally funded network of universities working with the U.S. Department of Energy to provide energy assessments to small and medium-sized manufacturers. Engineering faculty and students perform assessments at no cost to participating companies and deliver a report with recommendations within 60 days.

Assessments often identify opportunities to reduce energy costs by up to 15 percent and help manufacturers operate more efficiently by reducing energy costs and waste streams.

Free assessments are available for Georgia manufacturers in Standard Industrial Classification Codes 20-39 with gross annual sales below 100 million with fewer than 500 employees at the site. Department of Energy Industrial Assessment Centers
