Don Pital

GROUP MANAGER – GROWTH SERVICES

Don Pital is the growth services manager for Georgia Tech’s Enterprise Innovation Institute. He helps train and coach companies on innovative techniques for organizational sales growth using ideation techniques and innovation process management strategies. He trains organizations in the process of practical innovation for top-line growth and bottom-line operational savings.

Prior to Georgia Tech, he served in the telecommunication manufacturing industry in a variety of roles including quality, operations, and engineering management for over 12 years. Pital has coached and conducted training in all-sized organizations in quality management system implementations and best practice execution in areas such as root cause analysis, process improvements, SPC, process mapping, high-impact auditing, project management, and creativity.

Pital has M.S. and B.S. degrees in Ceramic Engineering from Georgia Tech. He is a Business Growth Coach, certified by the Eureka Ranch. Pital won the National MEP (Manufacturing Extension Partnership) Innovator of the Year award in April 2009.

Rob Ginn

Rob Ginn

STRATEGIC BUSINESS MANAGER

Rob Ginn, based out of Northeast Georgia, is the strategic business manager for Georgia Tech’s Enterprise Innovation Institute

Ginn has 25 years experience with HON Industries, holding positions ranging from machine operator to company president and corporate management. Ginn was instrumental in instituting a cultural change at HON, often recognized as a leader in Lean manufacturing techniques. Additionally, Ginn has led several corporations to improved performance for venture capital companies and has started or managed four companies, ranging from $2M to $120M in sales.

Ginn holds dual degrees in Marketing and Management from West Georgia College. He has also attended both Virginia Commonwealth University and Harvard’s Graduate School of Business for post graduate degrees. He is currently vice-chairman of the Habersham County Airport Authority.

Andy Helm - strategic business manager, GaMEP

Andy Helm

STRATEGIC BUSINESS MANAGER

Andy Helm is a strategic business manager for Georgia Tech’s Enterprise Innovation Institute. In his role, he serves as a business developer, technology consultant, and leadership coach.

Helm has been an entrepreneur with several high-technology start-up companies. He designed the electronics for a metrology start-up company that went public in 1997. Helm helped establish the U.S. headquarters of an international tele-communications company. He is the Founder of H&H Media, a television production company and the inventor or co-inventor of 6 issued patents.

Helm holds a bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering and a master’s degree in business administration, both from the University of Central Florida.

Ed Murphy

Ed Murphy

STRATEGIC BUSINESS MANAGER

Ed Murphy is a strategic business manager with Georgia Tech’s Enterprise Innovation Institute. He assists small manufacturing entrepreneurs in aerospace, industrial, and consumer product markets, as well as early stage companies, focusing on issues and opportunities facing business growth. In addition, he co-facilitates a monthly CEO roundtable meeting in Columbus.

He formerly served as Chairman of the Board of a “lean” software service provider and was also president of a small, Georgia based start-up that developed and patented devices for the physical therapy market. In addition, Murphy worked for 25 years in the printing supplies market holding positions in manufacturing, engineering, and business management positions, including VP and General Manager of Printing Plates. He has been a consultant to the packaging and printing industry and is inventor or co-inventor of several issued and pending patents.

Murphy earned a mechanical engineering degree from Western New England College and holds a Professional Engineer’s license. He is a graduate of MIT’s Sloan School Greater Boston Executive Business Management Program and is a certified Economic Development Finance Professional.

Matt Oxley

Matt Oxley

STRATEGIC BUSINESS MANAGER

Matthew W. Oxley III, covering 22 counties in Southeast and Middle Georgia, is a strategic business manager with Georgia Tech’s Enterprise Innovation Institute. He helps entrepreneurs and startup companies with marketing, technology, innovation, and other business assistance.

Oxley has more than 30 years of business experience, including owning and operating over 10 businesses, including two manufacturing companies with 300 and 110 employees. He also has experience in both the banking and finance and healthcare industries. He served as a bank director at three banks for 17 years and was on the board of a regional hospital authority, helped manage a medical practice, and owned a corporate wellness company.

Oxley received his Masters in Business Administration in Management from Georgia State University and a Bachelor in Aerospace Engineering from Georgia Institute of Technology. He has an Economic Development Finance Professional (EDFP) certification and a Professional Engineering (PE) License in Industrial Engineering and is an Edward Lowe Foundation Entrepreneur Facilitator and Galliard Family Business Advisor.

Patrick Wilbanks

Patrick Wilbanks

STRATEGIC BUSINESS MANAGER

Patrick Wilbanks is a strategic business manager in the Coastal Region for Georgia Tech’s Enterprise Innovation Institute. He is responsible for assisting start-up companies and small businesses that are either involved in manufacturing or are developing and applying technology in innovative ways. Wilbanks was instrumental in the development of Georgia’s entrepreneur outreach efforts and was the first Entrepreneur Outreach Specialist for Georgia Tech.

Previously, he served as director of quality and an internal board of director’s member for Advanced Metal Components, Inc. In addition, Wilbanks has started and operated several businesses involved in the design, manufacturing, and marketing of fabricated sheet metal products, wastewater treatment systems, records management systems, and real estate development. He is owner of Wilbanks Holdings Inc., based in southeast Georgia, which is part of Wilbanks Apiaries Inc.

Wilbanks earned his bachelor’s degree in Industrial Engineering from the Georgia Institute of Technology.  He is also an Economic Development Finance Professional (EDFP).

Bob Wray

Robert Wray

PROJECT MANAGER

Robert Wray, located in Dublin, is a project manager for Georgia Tech’s Enterprise Innovation Institute.  He specializes in helping Georgia firms develop top-line growth strategies, lean project management, and existing product and process improvement. Wray has 30 years of experience in product design, testing, production implementation, project management, and productivity improvements.

Prior to joining Georgia Tech, he was chief engineer with Husqvarna, a leading producer of lawn and garden equipment with $2 billion annual sales revenue. Within Husqvarna, Wray was instrumental in implementing lean product development methods and led integrated product development teams on strategic multi-million dollar projects.

Wray holds a B.S. in mechanical engineering from the University of South Florida, an M.B.A. from the University of South Carolina, and is a certified project management professional.
